The Plano Balloon Festival, Inc. received five first-place honors, three second place honors and one third place honor during the marketing awards competition at the annual Texas Festivals and Events Association (TFEA) Conference in Austin, Texas. The awards given at the recent conference were for marketing materials previously designed for the 2013 InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival.
Gold Awards (1st place): Best Event Website, Best Promotional Brochure, Best Misc Printed Material, Best Event Photograph, and Best Other Merchandise
Silver Awards (2nd place): Best Event Poster, Best Event T-shirt Design, and Best Hat
Bronze Awards (3rd place): Best T-shirt Design
“Recognition by one’s peers always provides a positive sense of accomplishment and re-enforces that our marketing efforts are right on track,” stated Jo Via, Executive Director, Plano Balloon Festival, Inc.
The TFEA Marketing & Communications Awards program recognizes excellence in event promotional and communication campaigns and is open to all members of the organization. This year over 430 entries were submitted from across the state of Texas. The contest was judged by a panel of festival and event professionals and college/university level staff and students. Each entry was judged with others in the same budget category.
This year the InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival includes a new theme “Alive with Color” to be held September 19-21, 2014 at Oak Point Park in Plano, TX. Additional details and the schedule of events for the festival may be found on the website: www.planoballoonfest.org.
